16 Weeks But Not Quite 4 Months??

Aubree had, what I thought was her 4 month check-up today. She will be 16 weeks on Monday but I took her today because it was my regular day off of work. When we got into the room, the nurse was asking us what we were there for because apparently she is not 4 months until February 12th even though she is 16 weeks on Monday. Follow me?? Apparently, she is really only 3 1/2 months old. Well, I was totally confused! When do parents stop counting weeks and start counting months? I have heard mothers say that their child is 30 something weeks! Well, according to Dr. Purvis, its time to start counting months so here is my not quite 4 months, 16 week, 3 1/2 month old baby girls visit to the doctor.

She was a happy girl before the shots

And then......she needed her daddy to make hers feel better!

Do I look cute or what??

Today was my day off this week and it was too beautiful to stay inside so Aubree and I decided to go for a walk. She is getting so big now that she doesn't even need to be in the carrier, she can just sit up in the stroller. As soon we walked outside she started squinting her eyes......and then I remembered the sunglasses I got her for Christmas! I put them on her and they didn't even bother her. She wore them the entire time we walked! She has a shirt (and bathing suit) that match the glasses but it was too hot outside for the long sleeved shirt. She may not have matched but she was still a diva in her pink leopard glasses! Too cute!

Doggie Update

Well, we had a wonderful doghouse built for the dogs because they were supposed to officially be "outside dogs" after Aubree was born. They were a little unsure of the house at first but seemed to warm up to it after a day or so.......or so we thought! They went in it all right! The first time they went in was to get their food and water bowls and throw them all over the yard. JD solved this problem by screwing the bowls into the floor of the house! The second time they went into the house was to drag their dog beds into the yard (and then sleep on them in the middle of the yard in 40 degree weather!). We thought we solved this by simply dragging the beds back into the house. The third, and I think final time they went into the house was to drag the beds out of the house AGAIN and then proceed to tear them to shreds (and yes, sleep on the cotton from the beds in the middle of the yard!). After this, we gave them one more chance and put another bed in the house but, you guessed it.....shredded! I think its safe to say that they are a little mad at us! Here is what our back yard looked like after the dogs let us know how they felt.....

This is the cotton that they laid on! Imagine waking up and seeing them sleeping on this mess! All we could say was "stupid dogs!"

3 Months Old Already!

Our precious baby is getting so big! She is already 3 months old and getting bigger by the minute. I finally went back to work and boy was it tough! JD was nice enough to bundle her up and come visit me at the pharmacy on my first day back. Aubree's GiGi watches her on the days that I work in the morning so that makes it so much easier to leave her. She is also sleeping for 8 to 11 hour stretches in her crib! I was a little concerned about how things were going to work out on days when I have to get up at 6am but, now that she sleeps longer, its not so bad. We are so lucky that she turned into a good sleeper! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to sleep. Nowadays, I consider it sleeping in if I make it until 8am!

She discovered her hands a few weeks ago and they have
been in her mouth ever since!

Daddy is so funny! He was able to make her smile for a quick pic
