Paradise Found!

It's official.....we found paradise! Maui is amazing! I put together a slide show to summarize our trip. Pictures do not do it justice and words can not describe it but I tried. We are so lucky that we were able to go with great friends (special thanks to Matt and Sarah) and that we have great family who more than willingly watched Aubree (I think they wanted us to stay longer!). Although it was great that JD and I were able to go, I can not wait to share moments like this with Aubree! We missed her terribly!!!

Isn't Technology Amazing!!

While we have been in Hawaii we have been able to talk with Aubree Michelle almost every other day thanks to webcams and skype. She doesn't really pay attention to us on the computer screen but we can see that she hears our voices and we can see her beautiful little face! Its the greatest thing ever and makes it less hard (yet it is still terribly difficult) to be away.

We would talk to her between 6 and 7am Hawaii time because there is a 5 hour time difference. It was all worth it to see our baby girl!

7 Months Old!!

And another month has flown by and Aubree is now 7 months old! With each passing month, a little more of her personality comes out. She is extremely observant, she loves attention, and more than anything she loves to make people around her smile and laugh! She is sitting up now but still has no desire to even attempt to crawl. Sometimes I wonder if she is going to skip a step and just start walking. Truthfully, we are not ready for little Miss Aubs to be mobile. Our house is not even close to being baby proof! Note to self.....must get a move on that immediately!!! She will be on the move soon!

My New Favorite Day!!

Mother's Day as I know it has officially taken on a new meaning! It has truly become my new favorite day! Although I have only been a mother for a matter of months, the joy I feel in my heart to be the mom of such an amazing little girl is unexplainable. Aubree brings more smiles, laughter, and joy to my life that I ever knew possible. Loving her has been the easiest thing I have ever done. I look forward to the upcoming years and celebrations on Mother's Day. I can't wait for little handmade cards with hand prints, illegible handwriting, and spelling mistakes. I now see why my mom always acted like those cards were the best......because they were!

This is what I woke up to on Mother's Day morning!

Daddy.....I mean Aubree was very excited to give me her gift. JD and Aunt Leslie took her to make vases for me, NaNa, GiGi, and her Great Granny. The other side of the vase has her hand print. Super cute!!

This was taken out on the lawn of the Omni in the Galleria where we had brunch. It was absolutely delish!!

And we had to make an Aubree sandwich! Her face is priceless!

She Has Teeth!! And Beanie Hands?

Aubree Michelle has 2 teeth now. The first we noticed on Easter Sunday and the second she just got a little over a week ago. It is so cute because we can see them both sometimes when she smiles. She even likes her new pearly whites! She constantly rubs her tongue over her bottom gums now that there are a few new additions. This picture has a perfect view of her new toofies! JD actually took this one (he made me write that).

On another note......I now know the meaning of "I just turned away for a second!" Luckily, in my lesson, no one was injured. Well, JD and I were eating and in true Aubree fashion, she started fussing just as our food comes out. We were able to entertain her long enough to scarf down our meals and then we took her out of her seat so that she could people watch (she is fascinated by people!). After a while I sat her in my lap and for one split second I turned to get a wipe out of her bag when all of a sudden I felt something slightly wet above my knee. Aubree, who reaches for everything, decided she would grab a sausage link covered in beans off of my plate!! Luckily, my plate had been sitting there for about 30 minutes and wasn't even warm to the touch anymore. Needless to say, Aubree and my jeans were covered in bean juice and she was just starring at me holding her beanie hand up! I can't even think about it without cracking up!!! OMG.....I love this girl and her beanie hands!!!!!
