Mothers Day

So I've been sitting here at my computer trying to think of something to write that would express how I feel about being a mom but.......it's just not happening.  All I have are these simple words that really don't even do it justice:

Love

Joy

Happiness

Fun

Pride

Fear

Amazing

Delight

I love being a mom!  

One Month

Jacob is already 1 month old (5 weeks actually but I'm a little behind!).  Time has flown by since the day he was born and we have enjoyed every minute of it.  He is a wonderful baby!  He only fusses if he is hungry, needs his diaper changed, or has a little gas.  He has been smiling at us since he was about 3 weeks old and every now and again we will get a glimpse of his little dimple.  Its not as big as his sisters but it is definitely there.  I constantly lay him on my lap with my cell phone over his head to try and get a picture of his adorable smile.  These aren't smiley pictures but I love how alert he his!  And of course, this top one is a cell phone picture.  Its just so much easier for just a quick pic!

5 weeks

She definitely had more hair and her eyes were already light brown

by this time.  His are still a shade of blue so we are not sure what color they will  be.

Our New Normal

Adjusting to two kiddos has been quite interesting especially when all we have ever know was how to take care of a little girl.  Trying to figure out how to take care of a baby boy has been interesting to say the least.  Lets just say that the diaper changes take longer and that we have been peed on multiple times!  Despite the challenges, Jacob has been a blessing to our family.  It's only been a month and I already don't know what we did without him.  Aubree is the absolute best big sister ever!  She loves him more than I could have ever imagined and she is so sweet with him.  We are definitely a blessed family of 4!

The Arrival of Jacob David

Jacob David officially joined our family on April 16th at 12:20 pm.  He weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces and was 19 &1/2 inches long.  He has been such a wonderful addition to our family.  Between Jacob and Aubree, our hearts are overflowing with love and absolute joy!
Here is the story of his arrival......in pictures!

Delivery was fast yet not as smooth as with Aubree.  

To summarize, I went into labor with out having to be induced as planned, I became dehydrated, ran

a fever, Jacobs heart rate kept dropping, and to top it off...the epidural didn't work so well.  

Contractions at 10 cm are killer!  JD was amazing through it all!

5 rounds of pushes and there he was!

I really thought he would have dark hair and dark eyes!  Under that

hat he has blonde peach fuzz!

Aubree is truly the best big sister!  She LOVES her little brother!

Her first time to hold Jacob was so precious.  She was so tickled that

he was finally here.  She says that mommy has an "all gone belly."

To see a 2 year old give love the way Aubree does is amazing!  

She told us, "I love this sweet boy!"

After 3 long days we finally got to go home to start the next chapter in our book of life!
